Sports Day Celebration 2019



“Sports build good  habits, confidence and discipline. They make players into community leaders and teach them how to strive for a goal, handle mistakes and cherish growth opportunities.”
        Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya celebrated its Sports Day on February 23,2019 in a grand manner. The programme started at 2.30 P.M. Invocation song was sung by the students of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya. Sri.S.Chandra.,M.Sc.,B.Ed., Headmaster of Gov.Hr.Sec.School, Kottaram was the Chief Guest of the function. K.G.Kamali of 9th Standard compered the programme. Sushma of 9th Standard welcomed the esteemed gathering of the function.Smt.Vijaya Nirmala, P.E.T. Teacher delivered the speech on the importance of the day. 
The Chief Guest addressed the gathering. He advised the students to play every morning and evening. He said that the sports play an important part in our life. He pointed out that the sports give energy to our body and it helps to improve the innovative ideas of the students. He emphasized that the physical exercise helps to keep our body fit and healthy . He said that the sports give the job opportunity to every students. He congratulated the prize winners and the teachers who motivated the students in sports and games. 
Students of class L.K.G to XII standard competed in events including running, Kho-Kho, Kabadi,Long jump and High jump. The prize winners were awarded by our Chief Guest. The prize list was read by Kum.Babitha, Teacher of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya. 
After the prize distribution, vote of thanks was delivered by Dharshini of VII Standard. At the end, the function was gracefully concluded by Kendra Prayer at 4.00 P.M.

Mother's Day Celebration 2019


“Mother’s love is peace; It need not be acquired, it need not be deserved”.



           Every year Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya celebrates mothers’ day in remembrance of the birthday of Sri Rama Krishna Paramahamsa, the guru of Swami Vivekananda. Sri Ramakrishna proclaimed his wife Saradha Devi as the embodiment of the Divine mother. He says that “Women are the veritable image of shakthi”.


            Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya celebrated Mothers’ Day in a grand manner on 16.02.2019. The celebration started at 2 P.M. The meeting was begun at 4.30 P.M. The programme was compered by Smt.Umaselvi, the teacher of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya. It was inaugurated by Smt.Beulah, Children Welfare Officer in the presence of Sri.Praveen Raj, Children Welfare Officer and Mann. Priyamvade Pandey, Self worker of Vivekananda Kendra and Vivekananda Memorial by lighting the Lamp. 
    
 The invocation was sung by Smt. Raja Prabha , teacher of Nivedita Balwadi. Smt.Nalarani, teacher of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya welcomed the gathering. The importance of the day was presented by Smt.P.Jeya, the teacher of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya. The different competitions like Rangoli, Music, Cooking and Games were conducted regarding Mother’s Day celebration. A beautiful devotional song was sung by the first prize winner Smt. Priya Sudha, Parent as well as an ex-student of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya.


The participants shared their pleasant experience about the school, teachers and the celebration.



          




Then the Chief guest Smt.Beulah addressed the gathering. She appreciated the role of Vivekananda Kendra in the society. She advised the mothers that they should give same preference to education as well as discipline. She said that the character of students depended upon their atmosphere and it changed their behaviour. She also insisted the mothers to spend most of their time with their children and support them by all means. Following the Chief guest Sri. Praveen Raj, Children Welfare Officer, Kanyakumari addressed the gathering. He exhibited the problems of children faced in day to day life . He explained about the child welfare committee and how it helps the children. 



The winners were awarded by the Chief guest and Priyamvade Pandey Didi. Prize list was read by Smt.Viji, teacher of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya. Priyamvade Didi addressed the gathering. She advised the mothers to motivate and support

their children in academic level and their emotional development. She illustrated the service and character of sister Nivedita and mother Saratha Devi and asked the mothers to read the life history of them. 
The vote of thanks was presented by Smt. Sindhu,teacher of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya. The function was over at 6 P.M. by Shanthi Manthra.

70th REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION-2019

“A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and in soul of its people”.
Republic day is a day to remember when the constitution of India officially came into force on January 26,1950. This historical act formally transitioned India to become an independent republic and hence it is celebrated on January 26 every year.




            Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya celebrated the 70th Republic Day on 26th January 2019 with pride and patriotism. The programme began at 8 a.m. The programme was presided over by Mann.Nivedita Didi, Vice President of VRM & VK. The Chief Guest for the day was Subeidar Major/Hony.CaptainG.Kumaradhas. 

      The programmme was compered by Prathaban of IX standard student. Our celebration was initiated with invocation “Vandhematharam” which was sung by students of VIII and IX standard. Smt.Nallammal, Teacher of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya welcomed the Chief Guest, President of the function, Principal, Vice Principal, Staff, Students, parents and the participants of the function.
            Our Chief Guest hoisted the National Flag and pledged to uphold the honour and integrity. The students sang a patriotic song.C.R.Archana of IX standard delivered an English speech about the importance of the day. 

          The students of Vidyalaya exhibited their talent through karate. We also had a patriotic song in Tamil by the girls of VIII and IX students. A colourful dance was performed by XI standard students . The Chief Guest addressed the Indian army. He remembered the difficulties faced by our freedom fighters. He mentioned that the development of our country in the fields of science, space, communication, education, sports and health. He specified that the percentage poverty also decreased after independence. He advised the students to dedicate their service to our country and give respect to the elders.

            The students of V.K.V. brought the stage alive with their love and affection of the motherland through their drama in Tamil. We also had an inspiring speech by our honourable President of the function Mann.Nivedita Didi. She expressed that the students should give their best in all circumstances. 
     She illustrated the service of Indian computer scientist Sri. Vijay Pandurang Bhatkar who led the development of param super computers. She advised the students to follow the good habits and they should not support any immoral activity and temptation. She instructed the students to follow our Indian culture and tradition. She insisted that the students should always work for the progress of our nation. She also illustrated the freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad who sacrificed his life during the Indian Independence struggle. She advised the students to be the role-model to the society. She congratulated the students for their bright future in a right way.

            The Chief Guest and the President of the function Mann.Nivedita Didi gave away the prize tothe E.A. toppers. Smt.Kalaiselvi, Teacher of V.K.V. read the prize list. Mann.Nivedita Didi presented a memeto to the Chief Guest.The programme was concluded with kendra prayer at 10 a.m.
