INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION 2026

Our school Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matric. Hr. Sec.School celebrated 80th the Independence Day Celebration with immense patriotic zeal and fervor on the school ground. The event commenced with a formal invocation followed immediately by the traditional flag hoisting ceremony. The gathering then stood to sing the National Anthem and collectively recited the national pledge. Following these opening formalities, a welcome address was delivered by Harshitha of class IX to greet the attendees, which led into a synchronized mass drill performance by the students. The importance of the day was delivered by S. Abira of class VI in English, L.K. Swetha in Hindi .

Our honourable Chief Guest Dr.Thanu Kumari mam delivered an inspiring educational address, urging the students to remember both well-known and regional heroes who built the foundation of free India.

Highlighted points:

# She highlighted about the freedom struggle and the sacrifices made by national leaders like Rani Velu Nachiyar, Tiruppur Kumaran, Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. She paid tribute to the fiery patriotism of Bhagat Singh.

# She quoted Swami Vivekananda's famous words "Give me 100 energetic young men and I shall transform India," emphasizing that the nation's future depends entirely on the strength and dedication of its young generation.

# She explained the students that they are the future of the nation and must act as responsible citizens.

# She inspired students to think big by invoking Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's iconic message: "Dream is not that which you see while sleeping, it is something that does not let you sleep.

# She urged students to maintain an optimistic mindset, view challenges as opportunities, and use their positive energy to constructively contribute to society.

Followed by dedicated Hindi and Tamil musical performances, a traditional Tamil drama about " Maaveeran Alagumuthu Kone, a dance segment, a Lezim folk performance, and a coordinated school band display.

Next, Our respected Mann. Hanumanta Raoji, Vice-President, VRM. & VK presided over the celebration and addressed the gathering.

# Mann.Hanumanta Raoji rightly noted that August 15 marks the birth anniversary of the visionary freedom fighter and philosopher, Sri Aurobindo

# Schools must train the mind, strengthen the will, and build a sharp intellect.

# Institutions must actively teach students to love India's rich culture and heritage.

# He noted that schooling must shape the disciplined minds. An Institution that only fills the brain with facts without moral grounding is useless

# Schools like Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya are not just places for textbook information, but laboratories for character development.

# He also highlighted "value the values. Values are not just taught in books; they are actively lived through daily actions and choices. Students must transform into highly oriented, disciplined, and purpose-driven citizens.True education helps students recognize and appreciate their teachers as lifelong character builders."




    A prize distribution ceremony was held to honor students’achievements, followed by the formal presentation of a memento to the Chief Guest. The event concluded smoothly with a formal vote of thanks delivered by B. S. Ashvika of class IX to acknowledge all participants, followed by the traditional shanthi mantra to close the day's program.
