Mother is the most selfless person who starts loving her children even before they come into this world and her love is the purest, incomparable to others.  “Mathrupooja” is performed as a mark of reverence to their sacrifice, instil moral values in the minds of children and strengthen the bond of love and respect between mothers and children.

Mathru pooja was organised in our Vivekananda Sabhagraham on 13.04.2022 at 3.00 PM.  The Pooja commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Shri. Krishna Kumarji, organiser of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas of Arunachal Pradesh followed by 3 Ohm Karas and Shanthi manthra.  The welcome address was presented by Shri.R.Sundara Kumar, Teacher of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya.

Shri.Krishna Kumarji conducted the Mathru Pooja and he gave a clear cut explanation on the importance of the day.  He quoted the most popular adage in Sanskrit, “Matha Pitha Guru Deivam” and highlighted their vital role in the growth of an individual.

He reminded their dedicated work, sacrifice and advised us to value the unconditional love of our mothers, help them in all means and moreover care for them.  He advised the students to respect their Mother, Father, Teachers, Guests, Nation and finally truth right from their childhood.

As a part of the ceremony, the children washed the feet of their mothers applied chandan and kunkum and offered flowers. This wonderful moment was made sweeter by feeding sweets to their mother.

Some of our parents and students shared the day’s experience overwhelming with joy. Vote of thanks was proposed by Shri.Kannan, teacher of VKV.  The students of Std X and XII took part in the mathru pooja.  Finally the celebration came to a fine end by Shanthi Manthra.
