Gita Jeyanthi Celebration 2020

 

  Bhagavat Gita is an important scripture that it can help us to get out of the cycle of birth and death.  If we want to live nobly, successfully and purposefully then the study of the Gita is must.  Gita is the book for living.  We celebrate Gita Jayanthi because Gita contains the philosophy of our culture, of our organization, of our work.

          Mananeeya Eknathji used to study Gita daily.  He brought the whole nation together for the construction of Vivekananda Rock Memorial as per the directions laid out in Gita.

          We started with three ‘Omkaras’ at 9.30 am.  Smt.T.Maheshwari, teacher of VKV invocated and teacher Kum. S.Ajithawelcomed the gathering. All the teachers chanted the 7^th, 11^th and 15^th chapters from Bhagavat Gita. Mann.Krishnamoorthyji, Editor of Vivekavani presided over the function and explained the important aspects of all the 18 chapters. He quoted slokas from each chapter and gave a clear picture of the role of Bhagavat Gita in our life.

          Smt.M.Nalarani, Librarian of VKV presented the vote of thanks. The programme was concluded by Kendra prathana.

Eknathji used to say,

          ‘Opportunities are Duties’.  According to his quote, we utilized this opportunity on Gita Jayanthi, chanted the slokas and got the blessings of Sri Krishna.
