INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION REPORT-2021

VENUE: VIVEKANANDA KENDRA CAMPUS

                “Thousands laid down their lives so that our country is breathing this day”.

            15th August has a special significance in the history of our nation. It was on this day, in 1947, India attained freedom from the strangle hold of the mighty British. All the Indians pay their tribute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives and fought to free motherland.

            The programme was compered by Smt.S.Prema, Teacher of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya. We initiated our celebration in Vivekananda Kendra campus sharply at 8.30 AM by an invocation song ‘VandheMatharam’ by Sri.R.Manikumar , Teacher of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya. We paid our salutation to our Mother Bharath by unfolding our tricolor flag. The flag was hoisted by Mann. H.Angirasji, Senior JeevanVrudhiKaryakartha of Vivekananda Rock Memorial & Vivekananda Kendra. National anthem was sung by all the participants followed by the pledge. The welcome address was delivered by Smt. R. Venkadeshwariteacher.

            “ When the pain penetrates, the music resonates”.

           The teachers on Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya sang a patriotic song in our National language. Sri. R. Kannan, Teacher of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya addressed the gathering on the importance of the day. He highlighted the invasions of foreign nations into our country, attracted by our wealth and the sacrifice of our freedom fighters to free India.

    75th year Independence day sankalpa was presented by Smt. K.G. Sariga, Vice Principal in English followed by Smt. T.Maheswari, Teacher in Tamil. Vote of thanks was proposed byTeacher V.K. Bowya. The programme was concluded by Kendra Prarthana.

           Guru Purnima, the festival dedicated to spiritual and academic teachers was celebrated in our school at 3.00 p.m on the 23rd of july 2021. The full moon day in the month of Ashadth of the Hindu calendar is celebrated as guru purnima. This day is also marked to pay our tribute to the great sage Vedavyasa who compiled the Vedas, eighteen puranas, the Mahabharatha and the Brahma Suthras.

            The programme was inaugurated by chanting 3 ‘om’ karas followed by the lighting of the lamp by Mann.Praveenji, All India Treasurer of Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra. Smt. Uma selvi, Teacher of VKV invoked the divine blessings of the almighty by an invocation song. The welcome address was delivered by Smt.Geetha, Teacher of VKV.

            “Guru is inspiration,guru is aspiration”. The teachers chanted guru stotram lead by Smt.Sariga, Vice Principal of VKV, Smt. Nallammal and Smt.Anuradha , Teachers of VKV to offer their salutations to the Lord, their spiritual guru.

            The presidential address was delivered by Mann.Pravenji, All India Treasurer of Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra. He explained vividly the meaning of ‘Guru’ and their role in bringing up the progress in the society. He insisted the teachers to carry out the tradition to their future generation. He brought to light the three stages of seva as propounded by Swami Vivikananda 1) to provide the basic needs 2) to provide educational survival to the upcoming children ie., they must earn the living by their own livelihood 3) to give guidance by which the people understand “Who am I?”. He instructed the teachers to aspire to be a teacher apart from their working hours. He quoted Sri Ramakrishna who chose Swami Vivekananda as his vehicle to spread the culture of “Sanadhana dharma”. He advised the teachers to follow the ideas said in the lectures and work on it in their own way.

            “Our obligations to our country never cease but with our own lives”. On this special occasion, we expressed our patriotic fervour by singing a patriotic song led by Sri.Manikumar, Teacher of VKV.

            The teachers offered their salutations to their spiritual guru by offering the flowers.

           “A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles”. Vote of thanks was proposed by Smt.Sumathi, Teacher of VKV, to all the noble souls who took part in the celebration. The programme was concluded by Kendra prarthana.

International Day Of Yoga 2021

“Yoga adds years to your life

And life to your years”

‘International yoga day’ was celebrated in our school premises amidst the pandemic situation to emphasize the importance of inculcating our ancient Indian art in our lives and to bring peace, harmony, happiness and success in the world.

The programme was initiated sharply at 6a.m with the lighting of the lamp by mann.Nivedita Didi, The Vice President of VRM & VK followed by prayer. A patriotic song was sung by our teachers to bring out the patriotic fervour amongst us.]

Yoga postures like Vajra asana, Trikona asana, Bhujanga asana etc… were performed by the staff of VRM & VK and our most respectable karyakarthas. We ended up our yoga performance by offering our salutations to Patanjali Rishi, the father of yoga. Sankalpam was taken by all the participants.

Mann.Nivedita Didi presented a clear cut picture of yoga and its importance in our daily lives. She remarked “Doing exercise is not only yoga but doing our work in a disciplinary way and leading a moral life is the real yoga”. She insisted us to have a regular practice of yoga to have a control over our body and mind and spread the fragrance of sweetness in the world. The programme ended with the Kendra prarthana. The programme was hosted by Selvi.Ajitha, teacher of VKV.
