                         We celebrated the 158th Janma Diwas of Swami Vivekananda and National Youth Day on 12/01/2021 in a grand manner. The programme began at 4.00 pm. It was compered by Smt.P.Jeya, Teacher of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya.

                        Initially, a drama and a puppet show on life of Swami Vivekananda were presented by South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

                        The celebration was initiated with an invocation song sung by Shri.Manikumar, Teacher of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya.



            
     
 Shri. S.Abraham Lingom, Principal, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya presented the welcome address. 




Teachers of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya gave a feast to the ears of the audience through a melodious song. 

     



    

Students of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya also welcomed the gathering through a welcome dance. 




  Mann. Nivedita Didi., Vice President., VRM & VK, gave the presidential address. In her address she emphasized the following points “Raise yourselves, face the situation, bring change in yourselves, each difficulty is a challenge, an occasion, an opportunity for you to improve yourselves” and she also quoted  Swamji’s words “ You can bring change only by bringing change in yourself” and “If I think I can, I can”.

Shri. P.R.Krishnamoorthiji, Organizing Secretary of Sanskruthi Bharathi, Bengaluru and his team portrayed beautiful rangolis as the part of this celebration.

Also there was a dance performance by students of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya and Villu pattu by South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur.

                        Vote of thanks was proposed by Shri.T.Sundara Baskar, Programme unit Officier, South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur.

            The programme concluded with Kendra prarthana.

Gita Jeyanthi Celebration 2020

 

  Bhagavat Gita is an important scripture that it can help us to get out of the cycle of birth and death.  If we want to live nobly, successfully and purposefully then the study of the Gita is must.  Gita is the book for living.  We celebrate Gita Jayanthi because Gita contains the philosophy of our culture, of our organization, of our work.

          Mananeeya Eknathji used to study Gita daily.  He brought the whole nation together for the construction of Vivekananda Rock Memorial as per the directions laid out in Gita.


          We started with three ‘Omkaras’ at 9.30 am.  Smt.T.Maheshwari, teacher of VKV invocated and teacher Kum. S.Ajithawelcomed the gathering. All the teachers chanted the 7th, 11th and 15th chapters from Bhagavat Gita. Mann.Krishnamoorthyji, Editor of Vivekavani presided over the function and explained the important aspects of all the 18 chapters. He quoted slokas from each chapter and gave a clear picture of the role of Bhagavat Gita in our life.

          Smt.M.Nalarani, Librarian of VKV presented the vote of thanks. The programme was concluded by Kendra prathana.

Eknathji used to say,

          ‘Opportunities are Duties’.  According to his quote, we utilized this opportunity on Gita Jayanthi, chanted the slokas and got the blessings of Sri Krishna.

Teacher Learning and Development programme

         
       A motivational camp was arranged for the teachers. Dr.Sundar kumar Gandikota, Founder and CEO, School Education and Management Services- SEAMS, from Hyderabad engaged the teachers during the entire camp.

On 08/12/2020 (10.00 a.m to 12.30 p.m),

Dr.Sundarji started the session by narrating the story of Shri. Vishnu Sharma, a popular  teacher, a  man of 80 years old who wrote the Panchatantra story. Through this story, we could learn moral values such as discipline, diligence, time management, punctuality, etc.

As teachers, we must know  about  the  "Why"  type of question answers. If we inculcate this type of attitude among the students it develops their curiosity to imbibe knowledge.

At the end of the session, Dr.Sundarji quoted Edmund Burke's beautiful quote “Example is the school of  mankind  and  he will learn at no other” .

The second session started with “my success story”. The teachers shared their experience with the students based on students' quality, their response, handling of  the students and characters.

On 09/12/2020(9.30 a.m to 12.30 p.m),

 “My success story” was continued and a new topic “The best teacher in my life” was also introduced. He insisted that we  should  strengthen  our  strength –Create Leadership quality among the students – begin class via activity – transformation must be developed  in  the  student Effectiveness  and   efficiency  bring   outcome.

On 14/12/2020 (9.00 a.m to 12.30 p.m), a self-appraisal form was given to all the teachers to fill in and discussion was done on the same.

On 15/12/2020 (9.00 a.m to 12.30 p.m), analysis was done by each teacher on the marks scored by the students in their subjects and he introduced various techniques to bring improvement in the academics.


On 16/12/2020 (9.00 a.m to 4.30 p.m), micro-teaching practice was done by each teacher in groups. Explanation on specific topics from Mathematics and Physics was given through demonstration.           The camp concluded at 4.30 p.m.
