Teachers Day & Vinayaka Chaturthi Celebration
“Good teachers know how to bring out the best in students”. Every successful individual always remembers the constructive role played by his/her teacher in their school days Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a great scholar, philosopher and teacher of modern India and was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1954. It was his wish to celebrate his birthday as Teachers’ Day.
In
our school the teachers’ day was celebrated on 06-09-2016. Student Selva subin
of XI standard enacted as a student Principal. He shared his views about the
importance of the day. The students of our school enacted as teacher and played
an important role on that day.
Punitha of XI standard enacted as Vice
Principal. She shared her experience. She expressed the teachers are
responsible for shaping the life of the
students. And she reminded us that they are selflessly working for the benefit
of the students.
“A
good teacher is a determined person”. Nivetha of XI standard shared her
experience. She expressed that the teachers are the guide and they support the
students to achieve their goal in their life.
She exhibited that the teachers
have great influence in molding the characters of the students. She reminded us
that the teachers are the instruments for shaping the destiny of India.
VINAYAKA
CHATHURTHI
Ganesha Chathurthi is the Hindu festival celebrated
in honour of the elephant-headed God,Ganesha. It is celebrated on Shukla
Chathurthi of the Hindu month of Bhadra. Lord Ganesh is worshipped as the God
of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune.
People believe that Ganesha comes every
year with lots of happiness and prosperity and goes after removing all the
sufferings.
In
our school Vinayaka Chathurthi was celebrated in a grand manner. It was started
on 29-08-2016 and was inaugurated by IX and XI standard students. It continued
for the next 9 days by other classes. The final day celebration was by X and XII
standard students.
The students and teachers prepared everything for the pooja
and they chanted the famous Vinayaka songs and offered flowers for Vinayaka.
Finally the Visarjan of Vinayaka was done at 11.00 a.m. in the sea. Prasatham
was distributed to all the students and teachers.

M.H.S.S.VIVEKANANDAPURAM
On
the very fine morning of 24.11.2014 (Monday),
when the people started to feel the heat of the sun. Children from various
schools marched with full fledged happiness towards our school to participate
in the competitions organised by our school in collaboration with Kudankulam
Nuclear Power Station.
“Coming together is a beginning
Keeping together is progress
Working together is success”
The
programme began sharply at 10.30 a.m. headed by resource people Sri.
P.Pandaram, Sri.S.kalirajan, Sri. Vel mail Murugan from Kudankulam Nuclear
Power Project and our Treasurer, man. Hanumantha Rao, Vivekananda Kendra and
our Principal Sri. S.Abraham Lingom, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Kanyakumari.
On
that happiest occasion we initiated our programme by an invocation song sung by VII standard students of V.K.V.
The
welcome address was presented by our beloved Principal
Sri. S. Abraham Lingom,
Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Kanyakumari.
Presidential address was presented by Sri.
S.Pandaram Member Secretary of Public Awarness Committee, K.K.N.P.P.
Inaugural
address was presented by Sri. S.Kalirajan,
Chairman of Public Awarness Committee, K.K.N.P.P. Next the Science Exhibition was inaugurated
by Man. Hanumantha Rao Treasurer of Vivekananda
Kendra.
After
the inauguration, all the participants moved towards their respective rooms to
take part in the Essay writing in Tamil and English and Drawing Competitions.
A
delicious food was provided to all the people that after noon. After lunch, the afternoon session started at
3.00 pm.
First day, three
competitions namely Essay Writing in Tamil
and English, Science Exhibition and Drawing competitions were conducted
for the children. They participated in the competitions enthusiastically and
won the prizes.
Smt.Sariga Vice
Principal of V.K.V. read out the names. .
S.Kalirajan, Chairman of Public Awarness Committee, K.K.N.P.P. gave
away the prizes for the winners.
The
vote of thanks was proposed by Sri.Velmail Murugan,Member Secretary of public programme
was concluded with National Anthem.

On
the very fine worm morning of 25-11-2014 (Tuesday),
the second day programme began sharply at 10.30 a.m. headed by resource people Mr.Ramesh,
Mr.Praju,Mr.Ravikumar,Mr.Thanga Siva Swamy,Sri.Velmail Murugan from KKNPP and
our correspondent R.Subiah Nadar.
The
programme was innagurated by Mr.Praju
by lighting the lamp followed by the
other members on the dias.
Invocation
was sung by the girls of VII standard. As per our Indian tradition of welcoming our
guests, Sri.S.Abraham Lingom, our Principal took that day as an
opportunity to welcome the dignitaries and the participants of the programme.
After
the welcome address, all the participants moved towards their respective rooms
to take part in the Quiz and Elocution competitions. A delicious
food was provided to all the people that after noon.
After
lunch, the after noon session started at 3.00 p.m.
Dr.Kalirajan,Chairman of public awareness committee and Sri.K.Sasi,Principal of Rohini college of Engineering
presided over the function.
Judges,Co-ordinators
and the schools that took part in the competitions were honoured with shields.
Prizes were awarded for the winners.
The

VIVEKANANDA ROCK MEMORIAL AND UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD DAY CELEBRATIONS REPORT 2014-2015

The welcome and adoration that was
given to the speeches of Swami Vivekananda during the parliament of Religions
at Chicago made it clear that world is in need of the message of Bharat. Swami
Vivekananda addressed the audience as ‘Sisters
and Brothers of America ’ it had an electrifying effect on them. It
was not merely a form of address but behind those words were the great
spiritual strength of India. For the first time to western audience the message
of Universal Brotherhood and its proper understanding was given by Swami Vivekananda.
Therefore Mananeeya Eknathji wanted this day to be celebrated as Universal Brotherhood day.
Our
honourable Chief Guest Sri. R.S.Sundar, Site Director of Koodankulam
Nuclear Power Project lighted the lamp.
In our
school 44th Anniversary
of the dedication of the Vivekananda Rock Memorial
and Universal Brotherhood day celebrations
were celebrated in a grand manner. The programme started at 5.30 P.M.
On that

address was presented by our school beloved Principal Shri.S.
Abraham Lingom.
The function
was presided over by our Special Guest Man.Hanumantaraoji,
Treasurer of Vivekananda Kendra. He addressed the audience. He expressed his
views about Swamiji’s address which was a turning point of Indian people. He
noted the five important words of Swami Vivekananda ‘Sisters
and Brothers of America’ which the audience considered Swamiji as
the greatest example of our whole nation. He talked about the ancient and
modern condition of India. He said that he was proud to belong to the nation
which had self esteem, self respect and self confident. He expressed that our
India has Universal acceptance and tolerance based on our Culture, Religion, Gigantic
spiritual different diamonds and social economic developments ‘Vasu Dev Kudumbaham’ means belonging to one
family.
He advised
the students to remember the three words ‘help don’t fight’ and
they must have patriotic confident life.
Next our
teacher Smt.P.Jeya who won the first prize in English elocution competition.
She delivered the speech in English.
The Kendra
employees who had completed their 10 and 20 years of service were honoured. Our
teacher Smt.P.Jeya read out the
names.
The students
of VIII standard expressed their spirituality feelings in the form of a song in
our national language.
Our teacher Shri.R.Sundara Kumar who won the first prize in Tamil elocution completion. He delivered the speech in Tamil.
Various
competitions were conducted for our teachers on account of Janma Shati Parva. Our teachers participated in the
competitions enthusiastically and won the prizes. Our honourable Chief Guest
gave away the prizes for our teachres.
We had an
eminent person Shri.R.S.Sundar, Site
Director of Koodankulam Nuclear Power
Project as our Chief Guest addressed the audience. He expressed his views about
Chicago address.He told about Swamiji’s thought each soul is potentially
divine.
He advised
the students to have self confidence and face their problems directly. Self
confidence will alone lead a person to achieve success. He talked about the Mananeeya Eknathji’s struggles for
constructing the Rock Memorial. He suggested the students to plant atleast 50
saplings in their life long period.
Our special
guest presented the memento to our honourable Chief Guest.
Vote of
thanks was proposed by Shri.Krishna Swami, Administrative Officer of Vivekananda Kendra.
Various cultural programmes were performed by our V.K.V. Students . The programme was concluded
by Kendra Prayer.

ONAM CELEBRATION
ONAM
CELEBRATION:
Onam
is a Hindu festival celebrated by the people of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The
festival commemorates the Vamana avatar of Vishnu and the subsequent home
coming of the legendary emperor mahabali.
People
celebrate Onam with great gaiety and enthusiasm. It falls in the Tamil month of
Aavani. Drawing flower carpets is the main attraction of this festival.
Onam
celebration was celebrated with colourful Rangoli and it was decorated with
varities of flowers called as Athappu. The students of XI standard decorated
with flowers. M.Manoj of V standard enacted as King Mahabali on that day.
