Universal Brotherhood day & 50th
anniversary of Vivekananda Rock Memorial was
celebrated on 11th September 2020 in a grand manner at Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari.
The programme started at 10:00 a.m. It was compered by Smt.P.Jeya, Teacher of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya.The celebration was initiated with the invocation song sung by Sri.Manikumar, Teacher of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya.
The programme began with lighting the lamp by the Vice
President of VRM & VK, Mann.Nivedita Didi. Welcome
address was delivered by Sri.S.Abraham Lingom, Principal of Vivekananda Kendra
Vidyalaya. Smt.T.Sindhu, Teacher of Vivekananda
Kendra Vidyalaya elaborately narrated the story of Vivekananda Rock Memorial. Teachers of Vivekananda Kendra
Vidyalaya gave a feast to the ears of the audience through a melodious song.
Mann.Nivedita Didi, Vice President of
VRM & VK gave the message of Universal Brotherhood day. She spoke about the
obstacles faced by Swami Vivekananda before and after reaching Chicago to
attend the world religious conference. She said that the Americans’ attitude
entirely changed after listening Swamiji’s speech. The people were eagerly
waiting for Swamiji’s speech every day. Finally she concluded by saying that
brotherhoodness should start from home and should spread to the whole world.
The Kendra
employees who had completed their ten and twenty years of service were honoured
by Mann.Bhanudasji, General Secretary of VRM & VK.
Students of Vivekananda Kendra
Vidyalaya entertained the audience with a Bharathanatiyam dance performance.Vote of Thanks was proposed by Smt.K.G.Sariga, Vice Pricipal
of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya.The Programme ended at 11:00 a.m with Kendra Prarthana.
