MATHRU POOJA CELEBRATION 2019


“THE MOTHER’S HEART IS THE CHILD’S CLASSROOM”


            No one in our life will ever love us as our mother does. There is no love as pure, unconditional and strong as a mother’s love. In order to sow the seeds of parental respect towards every child’s mother, “Mathru Pooja” is a way to induce love and respect to their mother. It is based on the concept of paying our respect to our mother whom our culture sees as a representation of Devi.
            Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Kanyakumari celebrated “Mathru Pooja” on March 13, 2019 in a curious manner. Around 150 students took part in Mathru Pooja. The function started at 10.30 A.M. The celebration was inaugurated with lighting the lamp by the president of the function Mann.Hanumanta Raoji, the Treasurer of Vivekananda Kendra and Vivekananda Rock Memorial. 

The invocation was sung by Sri.Manikumar, teacher of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya. Sri.S.Abraham Lingom, Principal of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya extended his welcome speech. The pooja was conducted by offering flowers and chanting the sacred songs. As a part of the celebration the students washed the feet of their mothers and applied Chandan and Kumkum. The students worshipped their mother and took their blessings. The students fed sweets to their mothers. 
Mann.Hanumanta Raoji addressed the gathering. He clarified the students about the value of unconditional love of mothers. He advised the students to consider their mothers as the living goddess. He also praised the mothers as the essential part in the family and the society. He illustrated Swami Vivekananda’s childhood experience. He congratulated the students who participated in the pooja.
            The participants of the function shared their wonderful pooja experience. The Principal of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya blessed the students and issued the hall tickets to the 10th Standard students. Vote of thanks was delivered by Smt.T. Sinthu, teacher of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya. The function concluded with the chanting of the Shanthi Mantra.
