Celebration of Vivekananda Rock Memorial & Universal Brotherhood Day


The parliament of Religions opened on 11th September 1983.The hall was packed with nearly 7000 people, representing the best culture of the country. Swamiji felt extremely nervous when his turn came, he mentally bowed to Sarasvati, the goddess of learning, and then began his speech with the words ‘Sisters and Brothers’ of America. It had a powerful effect on them. He emphasized that every soul is potentially divine, the fountain of knowledge is in everyone of us, religion turns a brute into man and man into god, all these thought together aimed for universal brotherhood.
            The master of ceremony by Smt. Jeya, Teacher.      
            “Light removes the darkness and brings brightness” our Man.Parameshwaranji, Man.Praveenji  and Dr.Arun Kumar lighted the lamp.
            In our school 46th Anniversary of  the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Universal Brotherhood day celebrations were celebrated in a grand manner.
            The programme started at 5.00 pm.
            On that happiest occasion we initiated our programme by an invocation song sung by IX standard girls.
The welcome address was presented by our respected Principal Shri.S.Abraham Lingom.
            The function was presided by the Chief guest Dr.R.Arun Kumar, CEO at cape Institute of technology,Levenchipuram. He addressed the audience. He expressed his views about Swamiji’s Chicago address. He exhibited that India became fame after the speech of Swamiji in the parliament of America. He insisted about the Navashakthi sangamam camp which was held in S.T.Hindu college, Nagercoil for the benefit of the school children. 

Then he reminded us about the great people who were responsible for the upliftment  of our country and also about the 150th birth anniversary of Swamiji. He spoke about the struggle faced by Ranade in constructing the Rock Memorial. He instructed the students to follow the path of Swamiji. Through the story of a poor boy he advised the students to possess two things in their life (ie) i) They should have a high aim and ii) Practice. He instructed the students to work hard to make the country famous all over the world.
            The Kendra employees who have completed their 10 and 20 years of service and their noble acts were honoured.
            Various games were conducted for the Kendra employees and the prizes were given away by the Chief guest and special guest.
            We had an eminent person Man.Praveenji, Joint general secretary of Vivekananda Kendra. He shared his views about Swamiji’s Chicago address. He expressed that this day signifies the winning attitude and all should cultivate this attitude within them. He exhibited that Swamiji won the entire world by his powerful speech. He reminded about the message given by Swamiji in the Parliament of Religions. Being of oneness”.

 He said that Bharat is a sort of Victim. He insisted Bharath has contributed a lot to the welfare of the human being. He advised us to follow the three mantras (ie) i) to work for ii) to live for iii) to dare for. He felt that India has forgotten to live collectively. He advised the students to live together and to take care of the responsibility of our country.
            Our special guest presented the memento to our honorable Chief guest.
            Vote of thanks was proposed by Smt.Sariga, Vice principal of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya.
            Various cultural programmes were performed by our VKV students.

 The programme was concluded by Kendra prarthana and the sweet boxes were distributed to all.

Teachers Day & Vinayaka Chaturthi Celebration

“Good teachers know how to bring out the best in students”. Every successful individual always remembers the constructive role played by his/her teacher in their school days Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a great scholar, philosopher and teacher of modern India and was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1954. It was his wish to celebrate his birthday as Teachers’ Day.


        In our school the teachers’ day was celebrated on 06-09-2016. Student Selva subin of XI standard enacted as a student Principal. He shared his views about the importance of the day. The students of our school enacted as teacher and played an important role on that day.

 Punitha of XI standard enacted as Vice Principal. She shared her experience. She expressed the teachers are responsible for  shaping the life of the students. And she reminded us that they are selflessly working for the benefit of the students. 



            “A good teacher is a determined person”. Nivetha of XI standard shared her experience. She expressed that the teachers are the guide and they support the students to achieve their goal in their life. 

She exhibited that the teachers have great influence in molding the characters of the students. She reminded us that the teachers are the instruments for shaping the destiny of India.

VINAYAKA CHATHURTHI

            Ganesha  Chathurthi is the Hindu festival celebrated in honour of the elephant-headed God,Ganesha. It is celebrated on Shukla Chathurthi of the Hindu month of Bhadra. Lord Ganesh is worshipped as the God of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. 

People believe that Ganesha comes every year with lots of happiness and prosperity and goes after removing all the sufferings.

            In our school Vinayaka Chathurthi was celebrated in a grand manner. It was started on 29-08-2016 and was inaugurated by IX and XI standard students. It continued for the next 9 days by other classes. The final day celebration was by X and XII standard students.

The students and teachers prepared everything for the pooja and they chanted the famous Vinayaka songs and offered flowers for Vinayaka. Finally the Visarjan of Vinayaka was done at 11.00 a.m. in the sea. Prasatham was distributed to all the students and teachers.
